Craig Mendelsohn has been a distinguished leader in the blood industry for 25 years.
He served in key roles in compliance and legal affairs with the American Red Cross (ARC) for more than 15 years and also filled a critical role as Interim General Counsel, reporting to the President and CEO of the ARC. Dr. Mendelsohn retired in 2019 and is now an independent consultant providing advisory services to the bioscience field.
Prior to his role at the ARC, Dr. Mendelsohn held the role of Vice President, Regulatory Affairs for Cardinal Health. Additionally, Dr. Mendelsohn has held several roles focused on food and drug law and regulation with extensive interaction with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Mendelsohn received a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1980 from George Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and a Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Professional association memberships include the Association for Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). He was recognized by the American Red Cross for superior employee performance through the organization’s Tiffany Award. Dr. Mendelsohn was appointed to the Board of Directors of OneBlood in December 2021.
