Laboratory Positions

The Clinical Lab Assistant position performs a variety of record keeping duties and prepares routine specimens and performs ancillary tasks to support testing. Unpacks and records samples shipped in accordance with regulations and guidelines and works with other team members to ensure timely and quality test results.  A high school diploma or GED is required for the positions.

 

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist position is responsible for performing accessioning and routine testing of biological specimens in accordance with all applicable guidelines and procedures.  The Specialist performs a variety of accessioning routine testing and support functions and works with other team members to ensure timely and quality test results. A Bachelor’s of Science in Biology or Chemistry is required for this position, as well as CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing.

 

The Technical Trainer position assists with training laboratory employees, evaluating staff competency, and completing training documentation.  This position performs automated and manual testing on donor blood samples to ensure the safety, potency and purity of the blood supply as required by the regulatory agencies. Coordinates and supervises training assisting in scheduling, planning, designing, developing, implementing, and measuring effectiveness of technical training and education programs.   A Bachelor’s of Science in Biology or Chemistry is required for this position, as well as CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing. Knowledge of technical blood banking or pharmaceutical activities and understanding of federal, state, and local regulations affecting technical activities is required.

 

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist Lead position is responsible for performing routine testing of biological specimens and reviewing test results and quality assessment data in accordance with all applicable guidelines and procedures. This position is also responsible for providing skilled technical support in the laboratory. Incumbents will participate in the administrative and workflow coordination functions of the laboratory. A Bachelor’s of Science in Biology or Chemistry is required for this position, as well as CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing. Seven years of pertinent laboratory experience is also required for this position.
