Dr. Marion Lanteri Joins Creative Testing Solutions as Scientific Affairs VP

08 Sep, 2022 | Return|

TEMPE, Ariz. (Sept. 8, 2022) — Marion Lanteri, Ph.D., began this week as Creative Testing Solutions’ vice president of scientific affairs. CTS is a leading research partner, tracking infectious disease markers in the national blood supply, among many other significant projects. As the largest nonprofit blood and plasma laboratory organization in the world, CTS exists to ensure the safety of blood and plasma-derived products for life-saving transfusion and therapeutic use.

Lanteri will lead all CTS’s scientific activities, clinical trials, research, data collection, analysis, and publication in this first-ever dedicated role for CTS.

“Blood transfusions and blood derivatives are integral to patient’s healthcare. Blood screening plays a critical role in blood safety, of which blood donor research is a key component of this process,” says Lanteri. “I am honored to continue to serve as a leader in this important endeavor, something I’ve strived to do over my nearly 20-year career.”

Lanteri’s experience includes 12 years with Vitalant Research Institute in San Francisco. She began there as a post-doctoral student researching immunology and specializing in West Nile, dengue, and Zika virus research and in pathogen inactivation. She has and continues to serve as an assistant adjunct professor at the University of California San Francisco Department of Laboratory Medicine.

Lanteri holds a doctorate in molecular biology and virology, specifically studying HIV at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis in France. She is a member of the American Society for Virology, the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies, and the International Society of Blood Transfusion. Lanteri has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications.
