As communicated on January 21, 2020, CTS will implement the licensed Grifols Babesia test for samples received on April 20, at the Charlotte, Dallas, Phoenix, St. Louis and Tampa laboratories. FDA Guidance titled “Further Testing of Donations that are Reactive on a Licensed Donor Screening Test for Antibodies to Hepatitis C Virus; Guidance for Industry” was released on October 2, 2019 and recommends that CTS modify our current HCV reflex testing algorithm to support these best practices. Seasonal monitoring of epidemic triggers for West Nile Virus (WNV) NAT tested donations will begin June 1 and continue through October 31, 2019. Should your facility have a reactive donation, CTS will send the WNV Alert email to inform you of your WNV reactive samples and request donor information. CTS successfully implemented Donor-Screen HLA® Class I and II testing on the Stratec Biomedical AG Gemini on Monday, April 29th. As previously communicated, the Immucor assay and sample requirements are the same, and the package insert has been modified to state the assay is specific to the Stratec Gemini instrument. The new package insert, assay history list, and platform history list are now available on our website.    

CTS was recently notified that one of the tubes listed in the Sample Acceptability document, the pink top Greiner tube with the clear label, product #46243, is no longer available. The table has been updated to reflect the acceptable tube types available from the manufacturer.
